COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does women’s SMP hurt?

Most clients say it’s very tolerable. The sensation is often described as light scratching or tingling, much gentler than a traditional tattoo. Sensitive areas (like the hairline or part) may feel slightly stronger, but discomfort is minimal and short-lived. Breaks and numbing options can be used if needed.

Will SMP damage my hair or scalp?

No. SMP does not damage hair follicles. The pigment is placed in the upper layer of the scalp, not deep enough to affect hair growth. It’s non-surgical, non-invasive, and safe for women with thinning, shedding, postpartum loss, or alopecia (depending on type).

Can I still color or highlight my hair after SMP?

Yes, absolutely. You can continue to color, highlight, or bleach your hair as usual once healing is complete (typically 7–10 days). SMP pigment sits in the scalp, not the hair, and is color-matched to blend across a range of hair shades for natural results.

How long does women’s SMP last, and does it fade?

Results typically last 3–5 years. SMP gradually fades evenly over time (no blotchy discoloration). Many women choose a light refresh every few years to keep the density effect crisp, especially along the part line or crown.
